Copper Lantern with French Lace

Materials:Copper , French lace, Brass bolts and nuts, agate

Crafted approximately 12 years ago during my student years, this lantern remains the largest container I have ever created. My obsession with boxes and vessels led me to design this intricate structure, which stands as a testament to my early technical exploration.

The piece is a culmination of various metalworking techniques, including sawing, forging, soldering, riveting, etching, and stone setting, finished with a deep patina. The delicate integration of The delicate integration of French lace against the structural copper creates a compelling textural contrast, while the set agate adds a final touch of organic elegance

這個燈籠大約創作於 12 年前的求學時期，仍是我製作過體積最大的容器作品。我一直對「容器」與「盒子」的構造深深著迷，這件作品便是我早期工藝探索的集大成之作。

這件作品集結了我對金屬工藝的各項探索，從剛硬的鍛造與鉚接，到細膩的蝕刻與鑲嵌，每一處細節都是經過發想而達成。我對於將輕盈的法國蕾絲融入沉穩的紅銅結構當中，所產生了剛與柔的對比和視覺變化非常著迷，最後再以一顆瑪瑙點綴，賦予作品一種渾然天成的優雅。
